‘This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.’ 1 Timothy 2: 3-4
To pray for all men, and especially those in authority is a good thing to do for us. By praying for those in authority, we hope to have a positive outcome of peace, and reverence towards God. This is because prayer changes things. Prayer changes our attitudes to what He wants us to believe and pray for our nation. It encourages us to take an interest in our own nation’s leadership; to have faith in good and godly consequences, and asks God to be above it. If our leaders have a positive attitude towards the nation, it will be beneficial for us and all those under that leadership.
As followers of God, we also want others to know the truth that that there is salvation through Jesus Christ, our mediator. We know that HM Queen Elizabeth has a personal Christian faith, but we also need to pray for the other members of the Royal Family, and the country’s leadership to know this, and to be true for them too.
Pray:
‘There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.’ 1 Timothy 2:5-6
‘Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. I assure you that whoever tells this hill to get up and throw itself in the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. For this reason I tell you: When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.’ Mark 11:22-24
Almighty God, thank you that praying for HM The Queen is a positive and beneficial act for all. Thank you that you are pleased with us when we pray for our leaders, and particularly HM The Queen with her huge responsibility for our nation.
I pray that HM The Queen will lead in the best way she knows. Refine her many years of experience. O God, granting her, even more wisdom and strength as I and others pray for her. This is not to making her more important than she is, but that gets the recognition and honour that You have given her as a leader over me.
I pray that I will take the responsibility to pray for HM The Queen and the Royal Family more seriously. May this be will be pleasing in your eyes. I want to do my part in this by praying, even right now for the Royal Family. Thank you for the power of prayer, and that if I have faith, that we can believe it will happen. Align my heart to yours in relation to what you want to do with and within the Royal Family.
Thank you that You sent Jesus Christ to be our mediator, reconciling us as human beings, to yourself, our God and creator. I pray that all the members of the Royal Family would come to know the truth that Jesus gave his life for us. This is to reconcile one to another, and us to Him. May I humbly be part of this, through prayer.
In Your name, I pray.
Amen
