The Prayers of HM The Queen

HM The Queen’s personal faith is exhibited in many ways, especially through her Christmas broadcasts.

Her Majesty attends church weekly as much as she is able. For someone with a personal faith, prayer will also be important to her. Let us join with her heartfelt prayers for the nation, her work and her family.

Pray:

‘I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.’ Psalms 17:6

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.’ Matthew 6:6

Heavenly Father, I thank you for HM Queen Elizabeth’s Christian faith and her witness. I know that prayer is so important to me, and that’s why I’m choosing to pray for her as a person, her work and her family. Keep me faithful in prayer for You, Lord.

As I bend down to pray, hear my sincere prayers for HM Queen Elizabeth. I pray that as a lady with an unparalleled role in the country, that you would hear the prayers of Her Majesty too. With her unique perspective on what is going on in our nation, especially right now, I pray that you would hear her pleas to You in a special way.

God, I cry out and call for HM The Queen to see many answers to her prayers. I join with her prayers and pray for her closest family and her work.  As she prays in a private place, hidden to the public eye, You O God are all-knowing and omniscient. Thank you for that understanding. Capture her prayers and use them for your glory in this land.

Gracious and loving God, thank you for the special privilege of being able to pray to you. Take my words, the prayers of HM Queen Elizabeth and so many others around the world and use them as offerings of love to your throne room.

Using the words that Jesus taught us to pray:

‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6: 9-13

Amen.
