These awards accompanied by medals/insignias are given to members of the public in person by a member of the Royal Family. This is usually Her Majesty, TRH Prince Charles, Prince William or the Princess Royal. The awards are given to the appointed investee to recognise personal outstanding achievements, personal bravery and services to the UK. With around 25 ceremonies a year, and over 50 people at each, there is a designated Royal office called The Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, to manage the awards.
See royal.org for more specific details.
Pray:
‘Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free’. Ephesians 6:7-8 NLT
‘How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you…’ Psalms 31:19 NLT
Lord, we thank you for the way that the investitures have encouraged and honoured many people for their achievements and service to people up and down the land. Thank you that the honours promote greatness and positivity in the land, along with a sense of national pride.
We pray that as HM The Queen and the Royal family bestow the investees with the awards, that they would be encouraged by their determination, faithful service, and dedication that has led them to be honoured in this way. Encourage the investees to continue serving the people around them, inspiring others towards a society that shouts about goodness and righteousness.
We pray for members of the Royal Household who are behind the scenes of the Investitures ceremonies. We pray for the communication that needs to be relayed to the investees in order to assist the Royal Family members. We pray for the preparations before, and on the day of Investitures to ensure that everything runs smoothly; from the arrangement of chairs, and the medals being cleaned and collected, to the placing of pins onto the investees clothing to assist the awards being given by the Royal Family at the appointed time.
Thank you for the reminder Lord, that although earthly rewards are fantastic, heavenly treasures are of much greater value than these. These heavenly rewards are being stored up for those who fear you. It’ll be a spectacular sight for all to see on the day of meeting you face to face, an anticipated moment of time. Keep us walking in your truth, and yearning for your heavenly treasures above all things, where moth and rust do not destroy. Although much of what we do is not seen or publically acknowledged, we thank you that You see it all. You will acknowledge each one as we continue to serve you humbly as our King and Saviour, Lord of all.
In Your name, we pray,
Amen.
