Prince Edward married Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999 and HM The Queen gave them the title Earl & Countess of Wessex. They have 2 children.
The Earl of Wessex supports HM The Queen in many different events like the rest of her children, such as Trooping the Colour and Royal Ascot. He is the Chairman of the Trustees of Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation and spends much of his time with this as his focus.

Father God, we thank you for the Earl of Wessex and his family. We pray particularly for the relationship he has with his parents, HM The Queen and HRH Prince Philip. As a son of the Monarch, we pray that you would give him good relationships as he represents the country through Royal duties in his diary. Give the Earl good communication as he talks with his parents. Create in their diaries, time to discuss matters which are important to them.
As someone who has completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award himself, we ask that his unique insight will provide him stories and insight for the leadership and the many young people who take up the challenges posed. As he leads the Award scheme as the Head of the Trustees, give him your wisdom, discernment, and vision for the future. May the Earl’s ‘grey hair of experience’ be his splendor to the young people who look up to him.
We also pray for the marriage of The Earl & Countess of Wessex. Provide them with all that they need to sustain themselves as a couple, and as parents to 2 children. From the outside, it may appear that they have everything, but only you know Lord what they need as their daily bread. Protect their home and children from prying cameras and people so that there is privacy where it is needed. In the public eye from time to time, help The Earl & Countess of Wessex to know how to manage the media attention upon their children. Teach them wisdom’s ways as you lead them in straight paths.
