‘We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father.’ Colossians 1: 11-12
Father God, you know all that has passed, and all that is before us. Thank you that you know this about Prince Charles too. Choosing not to dwell on the past, we pray for the future and all that is to come. We pray for Your goodness and righteousness for Prince Charles and all that he puts his hand to.
Thank you for his relationship with his mother, Her Majesty The Queen. With such a unique position that he has because of his mother, we pray that you would bless them with good communication. As The Queen leads the nation and Prince Charles watches and waits for his time to be the Monarch, we pray that you would bless them both with great wisdom. Give them times to talk and share together about what the Monarchy is, both now and into the future.
As Prince Charles waits for his time, I pray that you would continue to give him Your perspective on his waiting. Patience is one of life’s great lessons. Grace Prince Charles with your perfect patience, and give him the strength to endure and fill each day with purpose. As he thanks You, Father God, for the position that he is in, and the wisdom he has learnt from his mother, flood him with Your joy and peace in this season.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord.’ Jeremiah 29: 11-14
Lord, You have a purpose and a plan for Prince Charles. We pray that you would reveal yourself to Prince Charles as he searches for You wholeheartedly. As he prays God, listen to his requests on matters close to his heart that no-one else knows about. Hide him in your hands, away from prying eyes, ears and cameras as he talks to You, his heavenly Father. May he find You, Father God, like never before in such a personal way; and bestow Prince Charles with your presence and assurance of Your great love for him as a child of God.
As a son, we pray that You would give Prince Charles times to talk to his Father and his mother, Prince Philip & Queen Elizabeth, about things that are important to them. Furnish them with times to listen and glean insights from one another, whether family, national or international matters. As they relax in each others presence, give them moments to chuckle and smile.
Provide Prince Charles with good advisors and Royal Household staff who assist him in his Royal duties. Be with his Private Secretary as they discuss forthcoming duties and the many arrangements for them. Also, be with those responsible for protecting Prince Charles when he is out and about.
We pray that you would be with His Royal Highness today, in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
