HRH Prince Andrew & HM The Queen

HRH Prince Andrew is the 3rd child of HM Queen Elizabeth & HRH Prince Philip.

His Royal Highness is 6th in line to the British Throne. As a full time working Royal, he supports Her Majesty The Queen in different ways, for example through state visits and at Remembrance Day. Having had a Naval career, he still has strong links with the military. The Queen gave him the title of The Duke of York when he got married.

Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson in 1986, and they have 2 daughters. The Duke and Duchess of York divorced in 1992 but still work together to encourage their daughters. HRH’s website states:

‘The Duke is immensely proud of his family.’

The Duke also spends much of his time encouraging entrepreneurs through his initiative called Pitch At Palace. This has enabled many emerging businesses new opportunities to flourish. Pitch At Palace is an initiative that is now going global, touching the continents of Africa, Asia and Australia. This is in addition to Pitch At Palace Tours within the UK.

Let’s pray:

‘May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.’ Psalm 19:14 NLT

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT

‘Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honour.’ Hebrews 4:10 NLT

Father God, thank you for the life of The Duke of York and the way he conducts his life and work. As a child of HM The Queen & Prince Philip, we pray that the relationship he has with his parents continues to be valuable and special. Give them times to catch up with each other, listening to what is in their hearts and what they desire for the future to look like.

As he undertakes Royal duties for Her Majesty, we pray that the words he uses and will be pleasing to You, O Lord. Give him the right balance of Royal duties in his diary. We pray that you would also be with HRH’s Private Secretary and other members of Household staff that serve and assist him. Give them good communication so that duties and events are managed well and effectively for all.

As The Duke of York is passionate about encouraging his family, we pray that he will be able to balance the right amount of time between his immediate family and the commitments in his diary. Work/life balance is not always easy, so we pray that he will know the rhythm of each season.  As he communicates with Sarah, Duchess of York, we pray he knows how to maintain the good relationship he has with her. As his daughters are princesses, we pray for protection for the whole family. Grant them good health in every way.

Thank you for the Pitch At Palace initiative which The Duke of York started, encouraging many business entrepreneurs, not only in this nation but many nations around the world. As the entrepreneurs reach out to The Duke of York and this initiative, we pray that businesses would blossom like never before because of the listening ear of The Duke of York and the team at Pitch At Palace. In humility, we pray that The Duke would turn to you for his complete source of strength and wisdom. Lord, lift him up to where you want him to be on the world stage relating to the global business world as Brexit unfurls.

Moses was told by God to bless the people of Israel, so we pray this blessing upon The Duke of York, his family, work, duties and rest (Exodus 6:24-26 NLT):

‘May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.’

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
