These friend relationships, however, need the added dimension of great discretion and wisdom in what and how she says things. They require Her Majesty to have a huge amount of trust and confidence in them.
As human beings, we usually interact with a wide range of people, as well as our family members. Our interactions lead to building meaningful relationships. These resource us and we adapt our behaviours accordingly, evaluating our interactions and responses towards others.
‘And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.’ James 2:23
‘Hushai the Arkite was the king’s friend’ 1 Chronicles 27:33
Lord Jesus give HM Queen Elizabeth a few great friends in whom she can confide in, relax with, and laugh out loud with. Thank you that she has Prince Philip who has been her confidant for all of her reign. Continue to enrich their marriage. Provide HM with good companionship and meaningful relationships in which to talk privately. Give her discernment and wisdom in what and how to say things that are difficult to talk about; and things that are close to her heart.
Just as King David had Hushai the Arkite as a friend, I pray that HM The Queen would have at least one close friend to confide in. May there would be both joy and relief in this relationship, one where she can relax without any concerns. I pray that this person or people would have extraordinary levels of prudence, and be completely and utterly trustworthy. You know who these special people are Lord. Protect them and keep them utterly trustworthy and full of uprightness, for the sake of Her Majesty’s well-being and integrity.
When HM The Queen has no one to confide such classified information, I pray that she will bring them it all to you. Be her everything in these times. May Her Majesty be acknowledged to be a ‘friend of God’ by those closest to her as her faith shines. Grant her a uniquely intimate and powerful relationship with you, the source of all wisdom and knowledge.
In Jesus’ name,
