The Grandchildren of Her Majesty span a number of years. Each of their children – TRH Prince Charles, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward have two children each.
The role of a Grandparent is important in a family as they add history and depth to a family, history, and stories. The Royal family is no different in this, in fact, probably more so as family lines and history are traced more intentionally.
Pray:
‘Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.’ Proverbs 17:6 NLT
‘God replied to Moses, “I am who I am. Say this to the people of Israel: I am has sent me to you.” God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.’ Exodus 3:14-15 NLT
Thank you Lord, that you ordained families and generations. Thank you that each generation has stories to tell to encourage and inspire the following generations to come. Although there are often difficult times and stories within a generation, we praise you that one generation builds on top of another, lifting them on their shoulders and saying, ‘You can do it!’
Thank you for all the life experiences and history that Her Majesty and Prince Philip have. They have lived through times of war, inventions, as well as changing attitudes and perspectives of the Royal family. Lord, we pray that the Grandchildren of Her Majesty would indeed be her crowning glory as the writer of Proverbs wrote. Being in the Royal family, they have worn crowns and been adorned with jewels beyond equal. We pray that these Grandchildren would be more valuable and precious than all these adorning items.
We pray that they would have special times to connect, talk to and share stories. Stories of the past to inform the future, understanding the way things have changed. We pray for stories that make both the Royal Grandparents and Grandchildren laugh, giggle and smile in each others’ presence. Private stories that will be passed from one generation to another within the Royal Family. Lord, may there be many of these.
Lord, we pray that the Christian faith of Her Majesty would be passed on from one generation to another too. As the Head of the Church of England, HM Queen Elizabeth, attends church regularly for herself, we pray that her stories of faith would be talked about with her grandchildren. We pray that there would be a spiritual awakening in the grandchildren of HM The Queen. May this be more valuable to them than anything money can buy. Lord, bring a thirst for your word and your eternal name- the I AM among this Royal generation. Put an insatiable desire within them to search out who You really are, God, from their Grandparents. May this bring the grandparents and grandchildren together like never before. All for your glory God.
Father God, may these Royal Grandchildren hear of miracles, signs and wonders in their nation bringing an eagerness to find out more. Bring these grandchildren to those who can signpost them to You, the Almighty God, The I AM who I AM of the world.
In Jesus name, we ask,
Amen.
