Family Relationships of HRH Prince Charles

Prince Charles has many different relationships within his own family.

Each family relationship is unique and needs time and communication to maintain it. As the heir apparent to HM Queen Elizabeth, HRH Prince Charles needs good relationships around him to sustain and encourage him. Being under the media spotlight, these relationships need our prayers.

Let’s pray:

‘If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.’
1 Corinthians 13: 1-3 NLT

‘Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.’ Hebrews 10:24 NLT

Father God, you know all the relationships that are important in the life of His Royal Highness Prince Charles. Today we pray especially for the relationships he has with his immediate family as a husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

As a husband, we pray that You would give the Duke & Duchess of Cornwall times to talk, laugh and enjoy being together. Protect their marriage and sustain them as a couple when the media interest is very intense. Lord, although there were challenges in his previous marriage, we pray that the lessons learnt through circumstances and time would make this marriage happier and more meaningful. Thank you, Lord, that you forgive us, whatever we have done.

As a son, we pray that You would give Prince Charles times to talk to his Father and his mother, Prince Philip & Queen Elizabeth, about things that are important to them. Furnish them with times to listen and glean updates from one another, whether family, national or international matters. As they relax in each others presence, give them moments to chuckle and laugh out loud as stories are shared.

As a Father, we pray that You would provide times when Prince Charles & his sons, Prince William & Prince Harry can be together. Give them moments to remember their happy times together. Yes, there have been difficult times in the past, but we choose to pray for better times ahead as they move on from them. As they forgive each other for the short-comings they each have, bring them closer together in this season of their life. Bless their relationship, Jesus as they motivate each other in love.

As a Grandfather of two Grandchildren currently, we pray that there will be great excitement whenever they meet. Give Prince Charles, Prince George & Princess Charlotte such fun times together that they look forward to meeting again and again! Help them understand one another to create a special bond between them. As stories are read, toys are played with and memories made, be amongst them.

As a brother and brother-in-law, we pray that there would be times when Prince Charles can be with his family, all together at ease in private. Give them times to laugh, chat and catch up in an unrushed manner, communicating well. Help them to understand the perspective of other in the Royal family showing love and understanding to make a beautiful sound. If there is the sound of clanging of cymbals, help them to work out how to love again to make harmonious music resound out for all to hear.

As an uncle, having both nieces and nephews, help Prince Charles to know what questions to ask when he meets them. Give them time to listen to one another, to catch up on news and activities that each one is involved with. In the process of listening and understanding, cause Prince Charles to be a cheerleader for his family, wanting them to do their best in all they put their hands to.

Father God, bring on extraordinary encouragement from Prince Charles to each member of his family in the position that he has in the Royal family.

In your name we ask, Jesus,
Amen.
